Hi, everyone. I wanted to make this short video about what has been going on with the ShakeItPhoto update. We got a LOT of feedback from you guys about the new look. Some good, some bad, but mostly that the new look was different and not the shakeitphoto look you know, love and have been using all this time.
With that in mind, we are excited to announce that the next version of ShakeItPhoto will have the original look! We have already submitted the new update and it will be out as soon as Apple approves it. Most importantly, thanks to YOU for all the feedback we got about the new version. It’s great to have a community that is so passionate about our applications. Thanks for helping make ShakeItPhoto great.

I am very pleased to hear the original look is returning. You have underscored my thought that you guys are the best app makers when it comes to listening to your customers and engaging with us and our concerns. At the end of the day, though I was unhappy with the new look, I still respected and admired you guys for the work you did. This turn of events has only served to strengthen that belief.
I liked the new version! No upgrade for me. Thanks for making everybody happy though.

… can’t believe two years later still there’s no way to frame when shooting but just a few cosmetic changes to the UI!!!
We would love to hear your ideas on how to make our apps better. We are always trying to improve our camera apps. However, keep in mind, our goal to make simple apps forces us to severely limit how many options we include in our apps. We believe in simple applications that do one thing very well.
awesome! i know i was one of the people who wasn’t into the new processing, so this is happy news for me! i’m back on 1.2 right now but can’t wait for the new update! thanks for listening to us, and for those who do like the new processing, glad they can have the full res in this current version too. maybe for some you could have an option for new processing/old processing in the ‘keep original’ and ‘faster shaking’ menu. either way, i’m glad to know the original look that i know and love will be back! and just in time for a 365 shake it photo project!

No old look for me either. I like that it is consistent with Crossprocess that I use a lot as well. Thanks for making these great apps!
@alexia: let’s try this way: rectangular “viewfinder” (iPhone’s display), square output (ShakeItPhoto). any bell ringing, now? ;-p

Really glad the original version is back soon! I agree, being good in one thing is good enough!
I still like the new look. Old look doesn’t do justice as a “vintage” shot. To much contrast and brilliant colors. Don’t reinvent the wheel, vintage is vintage, not high resolution super high quality and colorful. People should understand that and I believe thats what your initial thought was when coming out with the update. Sad to see the look go but I am glad to see you guys are very passionate about making the majority happy. Trust me, Im still going to use your app and support you guys for all its worth. Cheers!
Here’s another vote for *not* changing it back or, ideally, leave it as an option (classic vs. new processing setting). I understand the need to please the existing users, of course. But that said, I (and it looks like others from the previous comments) much prefer the new more authentic look. As for the square viewfinder…I agree. It would make the app simpler to use. Maybe for a future update?
Thanks for this great video! Funny, I’m usually slightly behind the curve and was happy to see all of this dialog about Shake-it too. You guys should know that the tipping point for me in even buying an iPhone was SHAKE-IT! My friend was taking these amazing photos with the app and I thought they were some rad old format camera.I was really disappointed when I updated a few days ago and what were once incredible high-contrast high-res colorful images were now grainy washed-out pics. Looking back, over half of my iPhoto Library are Shake-it photos! I hope you will bring back the quality + style of the original Shake-it application.I look forward to the new update and be able to take the best pictures with my phone using Shake-it.Thanks!Ap

I panicked when I updated the app and found my photos “developing” very washed-out looking. I read the recent ratings complaining about the update and almost lost myself into a fit of rage until I read that you guys would be coming back with the old colors. Very please and in awe that concerns were heard!I understand that some people liked the new update, but I don’t agree that it’s very “vintage”. The unsaturated colors, yes, but usually vintage photos have a bit more contrast and I didn’t get much of that out of the new update. It’s too washed out to even consider Poloroid worthy.

any chance there will be an option to keep the new processing or use the old? want to make sure before I update, since I like the processing in the most recent version.
